I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that the fulness of His Gospel has been restored in these days through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I recall as I was preparing for service as a missionary, I had always believed it. But that wasn’t enough. I wanted to be able to look people in the eye and testify that I knew. It didn’t come immediately. As with the Book of Mormon prophet Alma, I “fasted and prayed many days, that I might know these things of myself.” (Alma 5:46)
The Lord will witness to each of us through the power of the Holy Ghost as he did to me the truthfulness of all things. And “what greater witness can you have than from God?” (Doctrine and Covenants 6:23)

My Testimony, or what I thought was my Testimony, used to seem very complex and oftentimes confused me.  The confusion came because I felt I needed to know and understand the details of God’s mysteries to have a strong Testimony.  I felt to have a Testimony meant to know the technicalities of Heaven.  But now I feel quite differently.

Leonardo da Vinci once said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”  I’m finding simplicity to be very powerful in regard to my Testimony.  My focus has changed from knowing in my head, or thinking I know, all the complexities I could to letting the Spirit into my soul to change me.  I have found the only question I need to ask is, What is the Holy Ghost telling me now?, then act on the answer.  In asking, I’m showing God I’m ready to listen and want to be taught.  In acting, I’m showing God my willingness to obey and that He can trust me.  When I ask and act, God has the widest access I can give Him to my mind and heart to instruct and change me.  I have chosen to let Him in.  I believe, everyday, He will always have something to say to us because He loves us.

Two people who are great examples of this in the Book of Mormon are Nephi and Lehi (sons of Heleman).  It is written that they “knew concerning the true points of doctrine” because they had “many revelations daily” (Heleman 11:23).  They had asked in faith and acted by study to learn of the doctrines, then were open to more revelations from the Spirit.  They became more and more familiar with the Spirit until they were receiving divine communications on a daily basis.

Through simply asking what God has to tell me today, I no longer need to know the end from the beginning before I act.  I choose to be content with what I have been given of understanding and direction, and then trust in God providing the experience in His wisdom as I act.  Instead of trying to fill my life with mental understanding, I have chosen to change my life through God directed experiences.  I know He has a plan for each of us for each day.  It’s exciting to wake up and discover what it is all about.

My Testimony is there is a God.  He is my Father in Heaven.  He sent his son, Jesus Christ, to free me from sin and death through His Atonement and Resurrection.  Because of Jesus, I am capable of choosing and being worthy to receive eternal life with Them.  Heavenly Father has provided the Holy Ghost as one who can testify to my heart and spirit of all truth.  God has restored his priesthood authority and Church to Earth through a modern Prophet named Joseph Smith.  This Priesthood has been the authority through which I have been baptized and given the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  I am a holder of this authority and have covenanted with God to be worthy of it at all times and use it in His behalf to serve others.  It is the power to bless and perform ordinances of salvation that bind on Earth and bind in Heaven.  It is in Holy Temples the Priesthood is used to bind couples and families together for time and all eternity.  I am a member of one of these families and am grateful to God for them.

I know all this is done because of God’s great love and desire to have his children (all of us) return to live with Him again.  The way is simple and Divinely led and within the capacity of every person to choose and achieve.  That is the Good News of this Christmas Season.  It is the love of God!  Merry Christmas

My testimony is something I hold sacred and has grown like unto a tree; it comes through years of experience with the Holy Spirit, needing constant nourishment from the living waters of the gospel and God’s Son. It grows in goodly soil of hope and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Today I write of the roots of that tree, my belief in Christ. All of God’s blessings stem from Jesus Christ.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,  like all members, I pursue a deep and abiding testimony of Jesus Christ as Savior and Redeemer. In a world with little stability, the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides a solid foundation to stand to see the recklessness of the world; It is based on principles of eternal truth which, when lived, brings joy and a sense of peace running deep within our souls.

As a young boy, my parents taught me to pray and, as a young boy, I received answers to prayers. I know I am loved by our Eternal Heavenly Father who is concerned for me as a father is concerned for his son.

As a young teenager, I longed to understand who Jesus was and how He related to me in my life. So I studied his teachings. One day as I was reading the scriptures, I read of Christ’s love for the little children and how He longed for their peace and protection. I felt His love for those children and as I knelt in prayer I was given my first witness of His eternal love for me as my Savior and Redeemer. My witness is that we can be found clean by following His teachings because of His love for us.

As I prepared to serve my Savior, I  needed to know about this Joseph Smith: Was he a prophet of God? As I studied his teachings and sought an answer from our Heavenly Father, I was rewarded with a clear witness of Joseph’s divine mission to restore the gospel to the earth, all in preparation of the return of Jesus Christ so we could have all of God’s truths. I then came to know that Joseph Smith acted through inspiration to provide a second witness of Jesus Christ through the testament of the Book of Mormon. I know these things are true because the Holy Ghost has told me in my mind and in my heart.  Each time I read the account of Joseph Smith, I am filled with sense of peace which peace only comes through the Holy Spirit.

As days become what they may, I will have the comfort and peace in my soul, knowing the Spirit has witnessed to me that Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith is a prophet, the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is restored providing me with a sense of belonging in these the latter days. This is my testimony and it brings me joy to share it with you.  I invite you to find these eternal truths out for yourself.

Again, this I know and freely give my witness and testimony, I write this in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

My testimony is simple, but sincere and heartfelt.

I know that Christ is real, and that He lives. I have seen his hand in my life, stretching me constantly to become the person my Heavenly Father intends for me to become—through callings, through trials, etc. Christ makes up for those areas that I fall short in.

With my report date for my mission approaching, I’ve had time to think of many things to be afraid of. Sometimes it almost feels like I am going to a completely different planet, where so many things will be new and strange to me. Satan has tried hard to convince me that I cannot do it—I cannot learn a new language; I cannot adapt to this new life; I cannot be who I need to be for these people. But I love my Savior and will do all I can to serve Him. I know that through my humility, faith, and diligence as a missionary, Christ will be there to make up my lack. I have nothing to fear.

I know that God answers my prayers. So many times I have felt pain and estrangement, and after a simple prayer—sometimes just venting to my Heavenly Father in fragmented sentences—I have felt warmth and love. It gives me so much comfort to know that I am not alone in anything, that I am understood, perfectly. So long as I am obedient, I will have the Creator of the Universe on my side. What more can I ask for?

I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true gospel. It is the same church that Christ himself organized when he lived on the earth. I have a testimony of the restoration. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I know these things because I’ve tested its principles and prayed about the teachings myself. The Spirit has confirmed to me time and time again that these things are true, and I can never deny it.

True happiness comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to know what I know, and I am excited to share these things with the people of the Philippines Cauayan Mission. I pray that in those short eighteen months, I will have the Spirit as my constant companion, that I will find those who are ready to receive this great knowledge, and that I will continually fulfill the will of our Heavenly Father.

I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I have a very strong testimony of prayer. I have witnessed the power of it many times in my life.

I have a great testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith, and so grateful he restored the gospel of Jesus Christ in these Latter-days.

My testimony of missionary work has grown so much over the past two years, as my brother has been on his mission in Rochester, New York. It is so amazing to hear stories he has shared with me about the investigators he has worked with and how the gospel has changed their lives.

I have had too many spiritual witnesses to deny this church is true. I know there truly is a God, a father of our spirits who loves us so much that he allowed us to make choices and He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins.

Through Prophets, God teaches us His plan and I know that Prophets truly are called of God to teach us, on behalf of God, what we should do in life to find the greatest joy. I have seen the drastic difference between following the commandments and counsel of the Prophets and not following them.

I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ everyone can be healed from their sins. I know that repentance is real because I have felt the burdens of sin lifted from my shoulders as I have prayed for strength and changed my ways. As I have followed the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have been significantly happier throughout my life.

I know the Priesthood authority has been restored to the earth and is the power of God to act in His name for the salvation of mankind. I know this power is real because I have witnessed it’s blessings in my life and have been given spiritual strength through it I otherwise would not have had. I know Joseph Smith was a Prophet called of God to restore the Priesthood and the full teachings of Jesus Christ which were once lost.

The Book of Mormon is true. I have read it and felt the power in its words overcome my soul. As I follow the teachings of the Book of Mormon I am happier. When I read the Book of Mormon my day goes better — I am more calm, more content with situations, and more loving to those around me.

I know these things are true through the spirit of God which speaks truth to our hearts and minds. It is real, I have felt it so powerfully in my heart and all over my body, almost like a shock of spiritual of power from my head to my toes. For me, it is  a feeling of peace, love, strong emotion, and joy.

I feel so blessed to know these truths and to have the opportunity to share them with you. I hope you will pray to know if the Gospel has been restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith and if the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Follow Moroni’s promise in the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:3-5) and I promise that you will receive an answer that the Gospel has been restored and the Book of Mormon is true!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true

Sometimes I don’t know how to make sense of the culture we live in.

In a world full of constant media bombardment, analysis, counter analysis, speculation, contrasting opinions on the workings of governments and men and women in high and low places, it’s hard to tell what is right, what is wrong, what to think or make of a certain issue, and ultimately what to believe. Sometimes I lose faith in humanity, that people are good people and can make their own decisions, voice their own opinions.

That’s where the restored gospel of Jesus Christ comes in.

Throughout history, the gospel has always been a source of comfort and truth for the believer. It is an anchor of faith for the soul in trying and difficult times. It gives us the knowledge that there is a Heavenly Father that loves us, that has prepared a plan of happiness for us so that we may know how to find true joy in this life. This thought gives me great comfort because I know that despite changing views and social conditions and climates, one thing will remain constant: the love of our Heavenly Father.

God is our Heavenly Father. We are his children. He knows and loves each and every one of us. Like a good parent, he wants us to be happy. He provided a plan for us, and a way for us to return to him. The center of this plan is his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, and through him we can repent of all the things we do wrong in life. We can be clean, have a second chance, and find healing. I know in my life I have felt that healing, and I know that it’s been a great blessing. The gospel can change our lives, turn us into truly kind and gentle people, willing to stand for what is right.

In this modern day, Joseph Smith, a prophet of God, restored our Heavenly Father’s plan. Through him, God restored the ancient church that existed in Christ’s time. Through him, the Priesthood, the authority to act in God’s name, was placed on the earth again. The proof of this claim can be found in the Book of Mormon, the record of Christ’s ministry among the ancient inhabitants of the North American continent. Joseph Smith translated this record by the power of God, and we can read it to know the truth of all things. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book, and that in reading it we can draw closer to God.

I know that God loves us all. There is no doubt in my mind about that. I’ve seen too many great things, felt so many great things in my heart to doubt that. I know that he has prepared a plan, a way for us to know what is right and wrong. I know that believing in him and the atonement of his son will bring us peace and guidance.

It’s nice to know there is a plan.

In a world of constant change, confusion, and mistrust, I have found complete peace, confidence, consistency in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

I know that the same church Christ himself organized while he was on the earth, is on the earth once more, in its fullness. It is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I came to this conclusion by praying to my Heavenly Father and asking Him with complete faith that He would give me an answer. Often, when I have questions or concerns, I go to the Lord and ask for help and direction.

He often answers those prayers through the scriptures; especially the Book of Mormon, whose entire purpose is to be ANOTHER TESTAMENT of Jesus Christ.

As I come to know my Savior better through studying his life, words, and deeds, I feel closer to him and have a greater resolve to change my life so that it is in accordance to the Lord’s will.

I know that as I strive to obey God’s commandments and serve those around me with sincere motives, I will be able to return to live with my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ again one day. I know that it is ONLY through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that all this is possible. God is real, and His greatest desire is for us to return to Him.

Of this I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I give my testimony to the truthfulness of the gospel found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I know that there is a God, that He lives, and is an active part of our everyday lives. I know that God provided a plan so that we can return to live with Him.

Throughout all ages of time, God has called upon certain men to act as His voice here on earth. These men are called prophets and include men such as Adam, Noah, Moses, and Abraham.

As the central part of God’s plan, I know that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Savior and Redeemer. I know that He suffered and bled for us so that we can repent and overcome sin. Christ also died and was resurrected so that we too can take up our bodies after death.

I know that Christ taught us the manner of life that leads us back to God. I know that same gospel which He taught was restored again to the earth through the Prophet, Joseph Smith. I know that God, the Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph and called upon him to be a prophet for us today.

I know that Joseph was given the responsibility to translate an ancient record known to us as the Book of Mormon. I know that it is a true book and that the principles in it will draw us near to God.

I know that God continues to speak to us today through prophets. I know that Thomas S. Monson is that prophet and that he receives direct revelation from Christ in our behalf.

Again, I say that I know that the gospel contained in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it because the Holy Ghost has born witness to my mind and my heart that it is true. I know that if you ask God, with a real desire to know, He will make it known to you as well.

I bear this testimony in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.
